Samsung screen repairs in Edinburgh and across Scotland

MrFix is an independent, Scottish-based phone repair specialist, providing Samsung screen repairs for customers in Edinburgh and across Scotland. Visit us at our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store, send your Samsung to us from anywhere in Scotland or the wider UK, or use our Samsung Collection & Return service across Edinburgh.

Most Samsung Galaxy phones use an AMOLED display, where the glass, touch layer and screen panel are bonded together as one part. That means a cracked front glass usually needs the full display assembly replaced, not just the glass. Drops, pressure in a pocket or bag, and liquid exposure are the most common causes of screen damage. We repair screens across the Samsung range, including the Galaxy S series, Galaxy A series, Galaxy Note and supported Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models.

From a cracked or shattered screen to green or pink lines, black spots, flickering, a blank display or touch that doesn’t respond, we’ll check the fault first and confirm the right repair and price before any work begins.

Depending on your model, you can choose from different screen options, including Premium, Value Edition and original Samsung service pack screens where available. We explain what will be fitted and how it may affect display quality, brightness and features like the in-display fingerprint sensor, so you can choose with confidence.

Most walk-in Samsung screen repairs are completed in around 60 minutes, and every completed repair comes with a 12-month warranty. Some models, including foldables, may take longer — we’ll always let you know before we start.

Knowledge

Know your Samsung before you book

Some Samsung Galaxy models look almost identical from the front, but screens are made for specific models and aren’t interchangeable. A Galaxy S23 screen won’t fit a Galaxy S23+, and a Galaxy A54 screen won’t fit a Galaxy A55.

The quickest way to check your model is to go to Settings → About phone. You’ll see the model name at the top and the model number (for example SM-S911B) underneath.

If the screen is too damaged to use, look for the model number on the original box, check your Samsung account online, or ask your network provider.

Still unsure? Bring your phone to MrFix and we’ll identify the exact model for you before quoting.

Before you book a Samsung screen repair

A few simple checks are worth doing before you book. They can help you understand the fault, protect your data and make sure you get the right repair.

If your screen is cracked

Put a screen protector or clear tape over the cracks to avoid small glass cuts and stop the damage spreading. Use the phone gently and avoid pressing on the cracked area, as pressure can damage the display underneath.

If your screen shows lines or flickers

Restart the phone by holding the Side and Volume Down buttons for around 10 seconds. If the lines or flickering are still there after a restart, it’s usually a hardware fault in the display rather than a software issue.

If the screen is black but the phone seems on

Try calling the phone, or listen for notification sounds and vibrations. If it rings or vibrates, the display has likely failed and a screen replacement will usually fix it. If there are no signs of life, it may be a different fault, and we’ll check it first.

If your Samsung touchscreen isn’t responding properly

Remove the case and screen protector and try again, as a poorly fitted protector can cause touch problems. If parts of the screen still don’t respond, or the phone taps on its own (ghost touch), the display may need replacing.

If your Samsung has been dropped in water

Power it off, don’t charge it and don’t try to dry it with heat. Bring it to us as soon as possible — liquid can damage the display and other parts, and an early inspection gives the best chance of a successful repair.

Still not sure? Bring your Samsung to MrFix. We’ll check what’s actually wrong and explain the repair and price before any work begins.

Parts and quality options

At MrFix, we don’t believe every customer needs the same replacement screen. Your choice can depend on your Samsung model, how long you plan to keep it, how you use it and your budget. That’s why we offer different screen options and explain what is being fitted, what is included and how much it costs before the repair begins.

Premium screen — our recommended option.

For supported Samsung models, our Premium screen is our recommended choice for most customers. It’s selected for clear colours, good brightness, smooth touch response and a precise fit, giving you a reliable everyday display at a fair price.

Premium screens are quality-checked before fitting and tested again after your repair, so you can leave knowing your display and touch are working as they should.

Value Edition — a lower-cost option when budget comes first.

We understand that sometimes budget comes first — especially on older phones, or when you just need your phone working again.

Our Value Edition screen is a lower-cost option for supported Samsung models. It restores a working display and touch at a lower price, but it may not match the original screen for brightness, colour accuracy, viewing angles or battery efficiency. On some models, the in-display fingerprint sensor may work less reliably, or not at all, with a Value Edition screen.

We’ll always explain these differences before the repair, so you can decide whether Value Edition is right for you.

Original and genuine options where available.

For customers who want the closest match to the factory display, we can fit original Samsung service pack screens on many models, where available. These are genuine Samsung parts and typically offer the best display quality and full feature support. Availability and price depend on the model, and we’ll confirm both before any work begins.

Premium isn’t only about the screen

With our Premium screen service, you’re not just paying for the part. You’re also paying for careful fitting by experienced technicians and proper testing before your Samsung is returned.

Samsung screens are bonded to the frame with adhesive, so we remove the damaged display carefully, clean the frame and apply fresh adhesive to help give a secure, even fit.

We take care with internal connectors, cables and the parts around the display, including the front camera, earpiece and sensors.

After fitting, we test display quality, brightness, touch across the whole screen, the fingerprint sensor and the front camera where applicable.

It’s this combination of quality parts, careful workmanship and thorough testing that makes the Premium option the one we recommend most.

Knowledge

Your data during a Samsung repair

Your privacy matters to us. A screen replacement doesn’t normally involve deleting or accessing your personal data, and MrFix does not intentionally erase your phone as part of a screen repair.

We may need your PIN, password or pattern to test the display, touch, fingerprint sensor and other functions after the repair. If you’d prefer not to share it, just let us know — we’ll explain what we can and can’t test without it.

We always recommend backing up your Samsung before any repair, using Samsung Cloud, Google or Smart Switch, just in case.

Knowledge

After your Samsung repair

Before your Samsung is returned, MrFix tests the repair and relevant device functions. Depending on the work carried out, this can include the display and touchscreen, charging, cameras, speakers, microphones and the fingerprint sensor where applicable.

For a screen repair, we check display quality, brightness, colour, touch response across the whole screen, the proximity sensor, the front camera and fingerprint unlock where applicable, and make sure the device is functioning correctly before handover. We’ll also tell you what was fitted and anything relevant you should know about the repair.

If your Samsung has an in-display fingerprint sensor, we recommend deleting and re-registering your fingerprints after the screen is replaced for the best unlock performance.

Screen adhesive continues to set for a few hours after the repair, so we recommend avoiding water, heat and heavy pressure on the screen for the rest of the day.

If anything doesn’t seem right after your repair, contact us and we’ll check it for you. Every completed repair comes with a 12-month warranty.

Common questions about Samsung screen repairs

Here are answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

Will my Samsung be wiped during a screen repair?

No. A screen replacement doesn’t involve resetting your phone, and MrFix does not intentionally erase your data. We still recommend backing up your Samsung before any repair, just in case.

Will the new screen look and work like the original?

Yes — the aim is to restore a clear, fully working display with accurate touch. Premium and original Samsung service pack screens are the closest match to your original screen. Value Edition screens can differ slightly in brightness, colour and viewing angles, and we’ll explain this before you choose.

Can MrFix repair a Samsung with lines or a black screen but no cracks?

Often, yes. Lines, black spots, flickering or a blank display can be caused by an internal display fault even when the glass isn’t cracked. We’ll check the phone first to confirm the screen is the cause before recommending a repair.

Can MrFix replace just the glass on my Samsung?

On most Samsung Galaxy models, the glass, touch layer and display are bonded together, so replacing the full screen assembly is the most reliable repair. We’ll confirm the right option for your model before any work begins.

Will my fingerprint unlock still work?

In most cases, yes. After a screen replacement, we recommend deleting and re-registering your fingerprints for the best performance. With Value Edition screens on some models, the in-display fingerprint sensor may not work as well — we’ll tell you before the repair.

Knowledge

Preparing your Samsung for repair

A little preparation can help your repair go more smoothly. Here are a few simple steps to take before you bring or send your Samsung to MrFix.

Back up your data

We always recommend making a current backup using iCloud or a computer before any repair.

Know your passcode

A passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs, but it may be needed to fully test certain functions such as Face ID, Touch ID, cameras or some settings.

Sign out (where possible)

If you can, make a note of your Samsung account and Google account login details, so you can sign back in easily if needed. If the screen is too damaged to do this, don’t worry — just let us know.

Tell us about any previous repairs

Let us know if your Samsung has been dropped, got wet or had a previous screen repair. It helps us check the right things and give you accurate advice.

Remove your case and screen protector

Take off your case and any screen protector before handing your phone over. If you have a new screen protector you’d like to use after the repair, bring it along.

Still have a question?

If you’re not sure whether your Samsung needs a screen repair, or which screen option is right for you, get in touch. We’re always happy to help.
