Know your MacBook before choosing a screen repair
Some MacBooks look almost identical — and even share the same screen size — while using completely different display assemblies.
Take the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Models from different years look almost the same when the lid is open, but many generations use different screens, connectors and hinge designs. The same applies across MacBook Air generations: an Intel model and an Apple silicon model of the same size may not share a display.
That difference matters because the exact model determines which screen fits your MacBook, how involved the repair is and how much it costs. Choosing by size or appearance alone can easily lead to the wrong part or price.
You can find your model by choosing Apple menu → About This Mac, or by checking the model number (starting with “A”) printed on the underside of the MacBook. If your MacBook won’t power on or the screen is black, bring it to MrFix and we’ll identify the model for you before confirming your screen option and exact repair price.
