Google Pixel battery repairs in Edinburgh & across Scotland.

MrFix is an independent, Scottish-based Google Pixel repair specialist, providing Pixel battery repairs for customers in Edinburgh and across Scotland. Visit us at our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store, send your Pixel to us from anywhere in Scotland or the wider UK, or use our Pixel Collection & Return service across Edinburgh.

The battery is the lithium-ion cell inside your Pixel that powers everything from the display to the cameras. Every charge cycle gradually reduces its capacity, and heat, age, heavy use or physical damage can speed that wear up. We replace batteries across the Google Pixel range, including standard Pixel, Pixel a-series and supported Pixel Pro models. From a Pixel that drains quickly or shuts down unexpectedly to a battery that no longer holds a charge or has started to swell, choose your exact Pixel model to see the available options and repair price.

Your price is confirmed before any work begins. Most walk-in Pixel battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes and come with a 12-month warranty.

You can walk into either MrFix Edinburgh store without an appointment. For extra convenience, our Pixel Collection & Return service costs £20 extra, with a MrFix driver collecting your device and returning it after repair within our Edinburgh service area, subject to address availability. If you’re outside Edinburgh, you can use our UK-wide postal repair service.

MrFix has been Scottish-based since 2017. However you choose to get your Pixel to us, we keep the process clear: choose your model, see your battery options and price, and know what you’re paying before your repair begins.

Knowledge

Know your Pixel before choosing a battery repair

Some Pixels look almost identical from the front while using completely different battery parts.

Take the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a. They are similar in size and look alike at a glance, but they use different batteries and are built differently inside. Even within the same generation, standard and Pro models use different battery cells, and on some models the battery is reached through the display while on others it is reached through the back.

That difference matters because the exact model determines which battery fits your Pixel, how involved the repair is and how much it costs. Choosing by appearance alone can easily lead to the wrong part or price.

You can find your model in Settings → About phone → Model. If your Pixel won’t power on, bring it to MrFix and we’ll identify the model for you before confirming your battery option and exact repair price.

Knowledge

Before you book a Pixel repair

A few simple checks are worth trying before bringing your Pixel to MrFix. Sometimes what looks like a hardware fault has a straightforward cause, and we’d rather help you avoid paying for a repair you don’t actually need.

If your Pixel won’t charge:

Try another USB-C cable and power adapter first. Dust and pocket lint can also collect inside the charging port and prevent the cable from connecting properly. Avoid inserting metal objects or anything that could damage the port. If changing the cable doesn’t help, MrFix can check whether the problem is the battery, the charging port or another charging component.

If your Pixel is slow, freezing or crashing:

Restart the Pixel before assuming something has failed. It’s also worth checking Settings → Storage. Very low available storage can cause poor performance, freezing and other behaviour that can feel like a hardware problem. Freeing some space may be all that’s needed.

If you think your Pixel battery is failing:

Go to Settings → Battery and check the battery usage and, on supported models, the Battery health information shown by Android. How the phone behaves matters too. Unexpected shutdowns, rapid battery drain, a battery percentage that jumps around or noticeably reduced everyday battery life can all indicate that the battery needs attention. If the screen or back cover has started to lift, the battery may be swelling — stop charging the phone and bring it to MrFix.

If your Pixel touchscreen stops responding or behaves strangely:

Don’t automatically assume you need a new screen. Restart the Pixel, remove any screen protector or case that could be pressing on the glass, and check whether the problem continues. If you have cracked glass, persistent ghost touch or areas of the touchscreen that don’t respond, MrFix can inspect the Pixel and confirm whether the display is actually at fault.

If your Pixel has been exposed to water or another liquid:

Avoid charging it and, where possible, switch the device off. Don’t put the Pixel in rice or try to dry the charging port with heat. Water resistance can reduce with age and wear, and liquid can continue affecting internal components even when the phone initially appears to work normally, so having it assessed promptly gives you the best chance of identifying the damage before it becomes worse.

Still not sure? Bring your Pixel to MrFix. We’ll check what’s actually wrong and explain the repair and price before any work begins.

Parts and quality options

At MrFix, we don’t believe every customer needs the same replacement battery. Your choice can depend on the Pixel model, how long you plan to keep it, how you use it and your budget. That’s why we offer different battery options and explain what is being fitted, what is included and how much it costs before the repair begins.

Premium battery — our recommended option.

For supported Pixels, our Premium battery is the option we’re proud to recommend. These batteries are selected for reliable capacity, stable performance and safe charging behaviour. Our aim is to give customers who choose an aftermarket part a high-quality option rather than simply fitting the cheapest battery available.

On some Pixel models, the display has to be removed to reach the battery, while on others access is through the back, which can make the repair more involved. Where that applies, our technicians explain it before the repair so there are no unexpected surprises.

Value Edition — a lower-cost option when budget comes first.

We understand that the Premium battery isn’t the right choice for everyone. You may need your Pixel working urgently, be using it temporarily, preparing to replace it soon or simply need to keep the repair cost as low as possible.

For selected models, our Value Edition provides a more affordable battery replacement. It is a standard, budget-focused repair rather than the option we recommend when the Premium battery is available, but we still source the best quality we reasonably can within this price range.

Importantly, Value Edition does not include MrFix’s Premium bonding and specialist compression process. We make the differences clear before installation so you can decide whether the saving or the additional benefits of Premium matter more to you.

Original and genuine options where available.

For customers who want an original part, MrFix can also supply and fit original/OEM battery options for supported Pixel models where available. The exact part, availability, price and any relevant Android battery information are explained before you approve the repair.

Premium isn’t only about the battery

With our Premium battery and eligible premium repairs, the standard of installation matters just as much as the replacement part.

To reach the battery on a Pixel, the display or back has to be carefully removed and refitted. MrFix technicians use high-quality adhesive and specialist compression equipment during reassembly. Controlled pressure helps the glass and adhesive seat correctly and evenly around the frame, helping to prevent lifting edges, dust under the glass and gaps in the seal.

Where applicable, this higher-standard reassembly process is also used for our premium battery, screen, back glass and charging port repair work. Our technicians take additional care with preparation, alignment, bonding and finishing because the aim isn’t simply to make the device work again — we want the finished repair to look, feel and perform as close as reasonably possible to a professionally assembled device.

Many Pixel models carry a factory water-resistance rating, but no independent repair can guarantee that rating afterwards, so we recommend keeping your Pixel away from liquids after any repair. What our Premium service does provide is the additional equipment, quality adhesive, controlled compression and technician care required to achieve the best practical standard possible for an independent repair.

Premium battery, Value Edition or an original option where available — you’ll know what you’re choosing, what’s included and what you’re paying before MrFix fits anything.

Knowledge

Your data during a Pixel repair

Your privacy matters. MrFix does not wipe your Pixel as part of a standard screen, battery or other hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs.

We still recommend making a current backup before any repair. A phone that is already damaged or experiencing a hardware fault can sometimes deteriorate further, so keeping important photos, messages and other data backed up is always sensible.

For liquid-damaged, no-power or severely damaged Pixels, data recovery cannot be guaranteed. We’ll explain what can realistically be attempted rather than promise a recovery before the condition of the device is known.

Knowledge

After your Pixel repair

Before your Pixel is returned, MrFix tests the repair and relevant device functions. Depending on the work carried out, this can include the display and touchscreen, charging, cameras, speakers, microphones and fingerprint or face unlock where applicable.

For a battery repair, we check charging with known-good accessories, battery readings, power-on and shutdown behaviour, and make sure the device is functioning correctly before handover. We’ll also tell you what was fitted and anything relevant you should know about the repair.

A replacement battery doesn’t need a special settling-in period, although the battery percentage can take a few charge cycles to read fully accurately. Once the repair has been completed and tested, you can charge and use your Pixel normally.

Depending on the Pixel model and the part you selected, Android may show different battery information in Settings. Where this is expected, we’ll explain it when you choose your repair option rather than leaving you to discover it afterwards.

If something doesn’t seem right after your repair, contact MrFix as soon as you notice it. We’d rather inspect the device promptly and determine whether the issue relates to the fitted part, the repair itself or a separate fault.

Common questions about Google Pixel battery repairs

Here are answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

Will my Pixel be water resistant after a battery repair?

Many Pixel models have a factory water-resistance rating, but no independent repairer can guarantee that rating once the phone has been opened. With eligible Premium repairs, MrFix uses high-quality adhesive and specialist compression equipment during reassembly to achieve the best practical seal possible, but we still recommend keeping your repaired Pixel away from water and other liquids.

How much better will my battery life be after a replacement?

A new battery should restore everyday battery life close to what you had when the phone was newer, depending on your model, usage and the battery option you choose. After the repair, we test charging and power behaviour before handover. If the fault turns out to involve the charging port or the main board rather than the battery, we’ll explain this before the repair wherever it can be identified.

Can MrFix repair a Pixel that is locked to someone else’s Google Account?

A hardware repair may still be possible, but MrFix cannot remove Google’s Factory Reset Protection. Factory Reset Protection is a Google security feature and requires the appropriate Google Account credentials or Google’s supported account recovery process. A hardware repair does not bypass it.

Can MrFix repair a Pixel another repair shop has already worked on?

In many cases, yes. Tell us about any previous repairs or replacement parts when you bring or send the Pixel to us. Previous work can affect diagnosis, part compatibility and the condition inside the device, so knowing what’s already been done helps our technicians assess it properly.

Will I lose my data during a repair?

MrFix does not wipe your Pixel as part of a standard screen, battery or other hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs. However, we still recommend making a current backup before any repair, as unexpected issues can sometimes occur.

Knowledge

Preparing your Pixel for repair

A little preparation can help your repair go more smoothly. Here are a few simple steps to take before you bring or send your Pixel to MrFix.

Back up your data

We always recommend making a current backup using your Google Account backup or a computer before any repair.

Know your passcode

A passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs, but it may be needed to fully test certain functions such as fingerprint unlock, face unlock, cameras or some settings.

Sign out (where possible)

If you can, sign out of your Google Account and turn off Find My Device. This isn’t always necessary, but it can help with some types of repair and testing.

Tell us about any previous repairs

Let us know if your Pixel has had any previous repairs or if you’re aware of any existing issues.

Bring any accessories that are relevant

If the issue is related to battery life or charging, it can be helpful to bring your charging cable and power adapter so we can test them with your device.

What Pixel repairs does MrFix offer?

MrFix repairs the most common Google Pixel faults, including battery replacement, screen replacement, charging port problems, back glass, cameras, speakers, microphones and other supported hardware faults.

For Pixel battery repairs, choose your exact model to see the available options and price. Most walk-in Pixel battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes, and completed repairs come with our 12-month warranty, subject to the warranty terms.

How do I choose the right Pixel model?

Start by choosing your Pixel from the model cards above. Depending on the generation, that might be a standard Pixel, a Pixel a-series or a Pixel Pro model. Not sure which one you have? Go to Settings → About phone → Model. If the Pixel won’t power on, bring it to MrFix and we’ll identify it before confirming your battery options and price.

Do you repair older Pixels?

Yes. We repair a wide range of Google Pixel models, from older Pixel generations through to the latest Pixel and Pixel Pro models. Parts availability varies by model. For very old models we’ll confirm parts availability before starting work.

How long does a Pixel battery repair take?

Most Pixel battery repairs take around 60 minutes. More complicated damage or additional faults may require longer. If we find something that changes the expected repair or timescale, we’ll explain it before proceeding.

Can I visit without an appointment?

Yes. No appointment is required for walk-in repairs. You can bring your Pixel to either our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store during opening hours. We’ll check the device, confirm the appropriate repair and price, and get your approval before work begins.

Can you collect my Pixel and bring it back after the repair?

Yes. For many Edinburgh customers, our Pixel Collection & Return service can be the smartest and easiest way to get a battery replaced without making a trip to the shop.

For an additional £20, a MrFix driver can collect your Pixel from your address, bring it to us for repair and return it afterwards. The service covers most of Edinburgh, including Corstorphine, subject to address availability.

Will my data be safe during the repair?

MrFix does not wipe your Pixel as part of a standard hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward screen or battery repairs. We still recommend making a current backup before any repair. For severely damaged, liquid-damaged or no-power devices, data recovery cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer nationwide Pixel repair by courier?

Yes. If you’re outside Edinburgh, you can use our UK-wide postal repair service. Send your Pixel to MrFix and we’ll assess the device and confirm the repair and price before proceeding. This means customers across Scotland and the rest of the UK can use MrFix without visiting one of our Edinburgh stores.

What warranty comes with a Pixel repair?

Completed MrFix repairs come with a 12-month warranty on the fitted part and our workmanship.

It covers faults relating to the replacement part or work carried out by MrFix. It does not cover new accidental or physical damage, misuse or unrelated faults that develop afterwards. Liquid-damage repairs are excluded from the standard 12-month warranty because corrosion can continue after repair.

Can I choose which replacement Pixel battery is fitted?

Yes. Depending on your Pixel model, MrFix can offer different battery options.

Our Premium battery is our recommended aftermarket option for supported models. We also offer a lower-cost Value Edition, while original/OEM options can be supplied for supported models where available.

We’ll explain the differences, the price, what’s included and how involved the repair is on your model before you choose.
