Premium back glass, made for everyday use.

Looking for a clean, factory-style finish without paying more than you need to? Our Premium back glass option is selected for an accurate fit, a close colour and finish match, and clean cut-outs around the camera and sensors.

Unlike lower-quality panels, our Premium option is chosen to help avoid common issues such as poor colour matching, uneven edges, a panel that doesn’t sit flush or gaps around the camera housing.

Samsung back glass repairs in Edinburgh & across Scotland.

MrFix is an independent, Scottish-based Samsung repair specialist, providing Samsung back glass repairs for customers in Edinburgh and across Scotland. Visit us at our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store, send your Samsung to us from anywhere in Scotland or the wider UK, or use our Samsung Collection & Return service across Edinburgh.

The back glass is the rear glass panel of your Samsung Galaxy. As well as protecting the internal components, it helps keep dust and moisture out, and on many models the rear camera lens covers sit in or alongside it. Drops, pressure in a pocket or bag and impacts on hard surfaces can crack or shatter it — and damaged back glass can leave sharp edges, let dust and moisture in and put the camera lenses at risk. We repair back glass across the Samsung Galaxy range, including Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy A and supported Galaxy Z models. From a small crack in the corner to fully shattered glass, a back panel that is lifting away from the frame or a damaged camera lens cover, choose your exact Samsung model to see the available options and repair price.

Your price is confirmed before any work begins. Most walk-in Samsung back glass repairs are completed in around 60 minutes and come with a 12-month warranty.

You can walk into either MrFix Edinburgh store without an appointment. For extra convenience, our Samsung Collection & Return service costs £20 extra, with a MrFix driver collecting your device and returning it after repair within our Edinburgh service area, subject to address availability. If you’re outside Edinburgh, you can use our UK-wide postal repair service.

MrFix has been Scottish-based since 2017. However you choose to get your Samsung to us, we keep the process clear: choose your model, see your back glass options and price, and know what you’re paying before your repair begins.

Know your Samsung before choosing a back glass repair

Some Samsung Galaxy phones look almost identical from the back — and even share a similar camera layout — while using completely different back glass parts.

Take the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24. Both are compact flagships with a similar triple-camera design, but the back glass panels are different sizes and shapes, with camera cut-outs in slightly different positions. Even within the same series, the standard, Plus and Ultra models each use their own back glass, and colours and finishes can vary between versions.

That difference matters because the exact model determines which back glass fits your Samsung, how involved the repair is and how much it costs. Choosing by appearance alone can easily lead to the wrong part or price.

You can find your model in Settings → About phone, where the model name and model number are shown. If your Samsung won’t power on, bring it to MrFix and we’ll identify the model for you before confirming your back glass option and exact repair price.

Before you book a Samsung repair

A few simple checks are worth trying before bringing your Samsung to MrFix. Sometimes what looks like a hardware fault has a straightforward cause, and we’d rather help you avoid paying for a repair you don’t actually need.

If your Samsung back glass is cracked:

Cover any sharp edges or loose shards with clear tape and use a case to hold the glass in place until the repair. Avoid pressing on the cracked area, and if the glass is badly shattered, be careful handling the phone and avoid wireless charging on it. If the cracks reach the camera lens covers, MrFix can check whether the cameras themselves have been affected.

If your Samsung is slow, freezing or crashing:

Restart the phone before assuming something has failed. It’s also worth checking Settings → Battery and device care → Storage. Very low available storage can cause poor performance, freezing and other behaviour that can feel like a hardware problem. Freeing some space may be all that’s needed.

If you think your Samsung battery is failing:

Go to Settings → Battery and device care → Battery and check the battery usage. On many models, the Samsung Members app can also run a battery diagnostic. How the phone behaves matters too. Unexpected shutdowns, rapid battery drain or noticeably reduced everyday battery life can all indicate that the battery needs attention. If the back glass is lifting away from the frame, stop charging the phone and bring it to MrFix, as a swollen battery can push the back panel outwards.

If your Samsung touchscreen stops responding or behaves strangely:

Don’t automatically assume you need a new screen. Restart the phone, remove any screen protector or case that could be pressing on the glass, and check whether the problem continues. If you have cracked glass, persistent ghost touch or areas of the touchscreen that don’t respond, MrFix can inspect your Samsung and confirm whether the screen is actually at fault.

If your Samsung has been exposed to water or another liquid:

Avoid charging it and, where possible, switch the device off. Don’t put the phone in rice or try to dry it with heat. Cracked back glass can let liquid in more easily, even on models with a water-resistance rating. Liquid can continue affecting internal components even when the phone initially appears to work normally, so having it assessed promptly gives you the best chance of identifying the damage before it becomes worse.

Still not sure? Bring your Samsung to MrFix. We’ll check what’s actually wrong and explain the repair and price before any work begins.

Parts and quality options

At MrFix, we don’t believe every customer needs the same replacement back glass. Your choice can depend on your Samsung model, how long you plan to keep it, how you use it and your budget. That’s why we offer different back glass options and explain what is being fitted, what is included and how much it costs before the repair begins.

Premium back glass — our recommended option.

For supported Samsung models, our Premium back glass is the option we’re proud to recommend. These parts are selected for an accurate fit, a close colour and finish match and clean cut-outs around the camera and sensors. Our aim is to give customers who choose an aftermarket part a high-quality option rather than simply fitting the cheapest back glass available.

On some Samsung models, the camera lens covers are separate from the back glass, while on others they are built into it, and some models use a curved back panel. Where that affects the repair, our technicians explain it before the repair so there are no unexpected surprises.

Value Edition — a lower-cost option when budget comes first.

We understand that the Premium back glass isn’t the right choice for everyone. You may need your Samsung working urgently, be using it temporarily, preparing to replace it soon or simply need to keep the repair cost as low as possible.

For selected models, our Value Edition provides a more affordable back glass replacement. It is a standard, budget-focused repair rather than the option we recommend when the Premium back glass is available, but we still source the best quality we reasonably can within this price range.

Importantly, Value Edition does not include MrFix’s Premium bonding and specialist compression process. We make the differences clear before installation so you can decide whether the saving or the additional benefits of Premium matter more to you.

Original and genuine options where available.

For customers who want an original part, MrFix can also supply and fit original/OEM back glass options for supported Samsung models where available.

The exact part, availability, price and any relevant parts information are explained before you approve the repair.

Premium isn’t only about the glass

With our Premium back glass and eligible premium repairs, the standard of installation matters just as much as the replacement part.

To replace the back glass on a Samsung, the damaged panel and old adhesive have to be carefully removed without damaging the wireless charging coil, NFC antenna or cameras underneath. MrFix technicians use high-quality adhesive and specialist compression equipment during reassembly. Controlled pressure helps the new glass and adhesive seat correctly and evenly around the frame, helping to prevent lifting edges, dust under the glass and gaps around the camera housing.

Where applicable, this higher-standard reassembly process is also used for our premium battery, screen and back glass repair work. Our technicians take additional care with preparation, alignment, bonding and finishing because the aim isn’t simply to make the device work again — we want the finished repair to look, feel and perform as close as reasonably possible to a professionally assembled device.

Many Samsung Galaxy models carry a water-resistance rating from the factory, but that rating can’t be guaranteed once the device has been opened, so we recommend keeping your Samsung away from liquids after any repair. What our Premium service does provide is the additional equipment, quality adhesive, controlled compression and technician care required to achieve the best practical standard possible for an independent repair.

Premium back glass, Value Edition or an original option where available — you’ll know what you’re choosing, what’s included and what you’re paying before MrFix fits anything.

Knowledge

Your data during a Samsung repair

Your privacy matters. MrFix does not wipe your Samsung as part of a standard screen, battery or other hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs.

We still recommend making a current backup before any repair. A Samsung that is already damaged or experiencing a hardware fault can sometimes deteriorate further, so keeping important photos, messages and other data backed up is always sensible.

For liquid-damaged, no-power or severely damaged Samsung phones, data recovery cannot be guaranteed. We’ll explain what can realistically be attempted rather than promise a recovery before the condition of the device is known.

Knowledge

After your Samsung repair

Before your Samsung is returned, MrFix tests the repair and relevant device functions. Depending on the work carried out, this can include the display and touchscreen, charging and wireless charging, cameras, speakers, microphones and fingerprint or face recognition where applicable.

For a back glass repair, we check the fit and seal of the new panel, wireless charging, NFC, the rear cameras and flash, and make sure the device is functioning correctly before handover. We’ll also tell you what was fitted and anything relevant you should know about the repair.

New back glass is fitted with fresh adhesive, so we recommend avoiding heavy pressure, heat and water exposure for the first 24 hours while it fully sets. After that, you can use your Samsung normally.

Depending on the Samsung model and the part you selected, the colour or finish of the replacement back glass may differ very slightly from the original. Where this is expected, we’ll explain it when you choose your repair option rather than leaving you to discover it afterwards.

If something doesn’t seem right after your repair, contact MrFix as soon as you notice it. We’d rather inspect the device promptly and determine whether the issue relates to the fitted part, the repair itself or a separate fault.

Common questions about Samsung back glass repairs

Here are answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

Will my Samsung be water resistant after a repair?

Many Samsung Galaxy models have a water-resistance rating from the factory, but that rating can’t be guaranteed once the device has been opened. With eligible Premium repairs, MrFix uses high-quality adhesive and specialist compression equipment during reassembly to achieve the best practical seal possible, but we still recommend keeping your repaired Samsung away from water and other liquids.

Will wireless charging and the cameras work normally after a back glass replacement?

Yes — replacing the back glass doesn’t change how wireless charging, NFC or the cameras work. After the repair, we test wireless charging, the rear cameras and flash before handover. If the damage turns out to involve the camera lenses, the wireless charging coil or other internal parts rather than just the glass, we’ll explain this before the repair wherever it can be identified.

Can MrFix repair a Samsung that is locked to someone else’s Google or Samsung account?

A hardware repair may still be possible, but MrFix cannot remove Google’s Factory Reset Protection or Samsung’s Reactivation Lock. These security features require the appropriate Google or Samsung account credentials or the manufacturer’s supported account recovery process. A hardware repair does not bypass them.

Can MrFix repair a Samsung another repair shop has already worked on?

In many cases, yes. Tell us about any previous repairs or replacement parts when you bring or send your Samsung to us. Previous work can affect diagnosis, part compatibility and the condition inside the device, so knowing what’s already been done helps our technicians assess it properly.

Will I lose my data during a repair?

MrFix does not wipe your Samsung as part of a standard screen, battery or other hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs. However, we still recommend making a current backup before any repair, as unexpected issues can sometimes occur.

Preparing your Samsung for repair

A little preparation can help your repair go more smoothly. Here are a few simple steps to take before you bring or send your Samsung to MrFix.

Back up your data

We always recommend making a current backup using iCloud or a computer before any repair.

Know your passcode

A passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs, but it may be needed to fully test certain functions such as Face ID, Touch ID, cameras or some settings.

Sign out (where possible)

If you can, turn off Find My Mobile and make sure you know your Samsung and Google account details. This isn’t always necessary, but it can help with some types of repair and testing.

Tell us about any previous repairs

Let us know if your Samsung has had any previous repairs or if you’re aware of any existing issues.

Bring any accessories that are relevant

If the issue is related to wireless charging, for example, it can be helpful to bring your wireless charger or other accessories so we can test them with your device.

Knowledge

The questions people actually ask.

Straight answers to the things customers ask us most about Samsung repairs. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

What Samsung repairs does MrFix offer?

MrFix repairs the most common Samsung faults, including screen replacement, back glass replacement, battery replacement, charging port problems, cameras, speakers, microphones and other supported hardware faults.

For Samsung back glass repairs, choose your exact model to see the available options and price. Most walk-in Samsung back glass repairs are completed in around 60 minutes, and completed repairs come with our 12-month warranty, subject to the warranty terms.

How do I choose the right Samsung model?

Start by choosing your Samsung from the model cards above. Depending on the model, that might be a Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy A or Galaxy Z phone.

Not sure which one you have? Go to Settings → About phone to see the model name and model number. If the phone won’t power on, bring it to MrFix and we’ll identify it before confirming your back glass options and price.

Do you repair older Samsung phones?

Yes. We repair a wide range of Samsung models, from older Galaxy S and Galaxy Note models through to recent Galaxy S, Galaxy A and Galaxy Z generations. Parts availability varies by model. For very old models we’ll confirm parts availability before starting work.

How long does a Samsung back glass repair take?

Most Samsung back glass repairs take around 60 minutes.

More complicated damage or additional faults may require longer. If we find something that changes the expected repair or timescale, we’ll explain it before proceeding.

Can I visit without an appointment?

Yes. No appointment is required for walk-in repairs. You can bring your Samsung to either our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store during opening hours.

We’ll check the device, confirm the appropriate repair and price, and get your approval before work begins.

Can you collect my Samsung and bring it back after the repair?

Yes. For many Edinburgh customers, our Samsung Collection & Return service can be the smartest and easiest way to get your back glass repaired without making a trip to the shop.

For an additional £20, a MrFix driver can collect your Samsung from your address, bring it to us for repair and return it afterwards. The service covers most of Edinburgh, including Corstorphine, subject to address availability.

Will my data be safe during the repair?

MrFix does not wipe your Samsung as part of a standard hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward screen or battery repairs.

We still recommend making a current backup before any repair. For severely damaged, liquid-damaged or no-power devices, data recovery cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer nationwide Samsung repair by courier?

Yes. If you’re outside Edinburgh, you can use our UK-wide postal repair service.

Send your Samsung to MrFix and we’ll assess the device and confirm the repair and price before proceeding. This means customers across Scotland and the rest of the UK can use MrFix without visiting one of our Edinburgh stores.

What warranty comes with a Samsung repair?

Completed MrFix repairs come with a 12-month warranty on the fitted part and our workmanship.

It covers faults relating to the replacement part or work carried out by MrFix. It does not cover new accidental or physical damage, misuse or unrelated faults that develop afterwards. Liquid-damage repairs are excluded from the standard 12-month warranty because corrosion can continue after repair.

Can I choose which replacement Samsung back glass is fitted?

Yes. Depending on your Samsung model, MrFix can offer different back glass options.

Our Premium back glass is our recommended aftermarket option for supported models. We also offer a lower-cost Value Edition, while original/OEM options can be supplied for supported models where available.

We’ll explain the differences, the price, what’s included and whether the camera lens covers on your model are replaced with the back glass or separately before you choose.
