Samsung battery repairs in Edinburgh & across Scotland.

MrFix is an independent, Scottish-based Samsung repair specialist, providing Samsung battery repairs for customers in Edinburgh and across Scotland. Visit us at our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store, send your Samsung phone to us from anywhere in Scotland or the wider UK, or use our Samsung Collection & Return service across Edinburgh.

Every lithium-ion battery loses capacity over time. Daily charge cycles, heat, fast charging and age can all wear a battery down, leading to rapid drain, unexpected shutdowns, slow performance or, in some cases, a swollen battery that lifts the back glass or screen. We replace batteries across the Samsung Galaxy range, including Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy A and supported Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models. From a battery that drains in a few hours to a phone that shuts down at 20%, won’t hold a charge or has started to swell, choose your exact Samsung model to see the available options and repair price.

Your price is confirmed before any work begins. Most walk-in Samsung battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes and come with a 12-month warranty.

You can walk into either MrFix Edinburgh store without an appointment. For extra convenience, our Samsung Collection & Return service costs £20 extra, with a MrFix driver collecting your device and returning it after repair within our Edinburgh service area, subject to address availability. If you’re outside Edinburgh, you can use our UK-wide postal repair service.

MrFix has been Scottish-based since 2017. However you choose to get your Samsung phone to us, we keep the process clear: choose your model, see your battery options and price, and know what you’re paying before your repair begins.

Know your Samsung phone before choosing a battery repair

Some Samsung phones look almost identical — and even share the same screen size — while using completely different batteries.

Take the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24. They look very similar from the front, but each uses a different battery with its own capacity, size and fitting. Even within the same series, the standard, Plus and Ultra models all use different batteries, and foldable models such as the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip use two separate battery cells.

That difference matters because the exact model determines which battery fits your Samsung phone, how involved the repair is and how much it costs. Choosing by appearance alone can easily lead to the wrong part or price.

You can find your model in Settings → About phone. If your Samsung phone won’t power on, bring it to MrFix and we’ll identify the model for you before confirming your battery option and exact repair price.

Before you book a Samsung phone repair

A few simple checks are worth trying before bringing your Samsung phone to MrFix. Sometimes what looks like a hardware fault has a straightforward cause, and we’d rather help you avoid paying for a repair you don’t actually need.

If your Samsung phone won’t charge:

Try another charging cable and mains adapter first. Dust and pocket debris can also collect inside the charging port and prevent the cable from connecting properly. Avoid inserting metal objects or anything that could damage the port. If changing the cable doesn’t help, MrFix can check whether the problem is the port, battery or another charging component.

If your Samsung phone is slow, freezing or crashing:

Restart the Samsung before assuming something has failed. It’s also worth checking Settings → Battery and device care → Storage. Very low available storage can cause poor performance, freezing and other behaviour that can feel like a hardware problem. Freeing some space may be all that’s needed.

If you think your Samsung phone battery is failing:

Go to Settings → Battery and check the battery usage and, on supported models, the battery status shown in the Samsung Members app. How the Samsung behaves matters too. Unexpected shutdowns, rapid battery drain or noticeably reduced everyday battery life can all indicate that the battery needs attention.

If your Samsung phone touchscreen stops responding or behaves strangely:

Don’t automatically assume you need a new digitiser. Restart the Samsung, remove any screen protector or case that could be pressing on the glass, and check whether the problem continues. If you have cracked glass, persistent ghost touch or areas of the touchscreen that don’t respond, MrFix can inspect the Samsung and confirm whether the digitiser or the display is actually at fault.

If your Samsung phone has been exposed to water or another liquid:

Avoid charging it and, where possible, switch the device off. Don’t put the Samsung in rice or try to dry it with heat. Liquid can continue affecting internal components even when the Samsung initially appears to work normally, so having it assessed promptly gives you the best chance of identifying the damage before it becomes worse.

Still not sure? Bring the Samsung to MrFix. We’ll check what’s actually wrong and explain the repair and price before any work begins.

Parts and quality options

At MrFix, we don’t believe every customer needs the same replacement battery. Your choice can depend on the Samsung model, how long you plan to keep it, how you use it and your budget. That’s why we offer different battery options and explain what is being fitted, what is included and how much it costs before the repair begins.

Premium battery — our recommended option.

For supported Samsung phones, our Premium battery is the option we’re proud to recommend. These cells are selected for reliable capacity, stable performance and safe charging. Our aim is to give customers who choose an aftermarket part a high-quality option rather than simply fitting the cheapest battery available.

On some Samsung models, the battery is firmly bonded to the frame or sits beneath other components, which can make the repair more involved. Where that applies, our technicians explain it before the repair so there are no unexpected surprises.

Value Edition — a lower-cost option when budget comes first.

We understand that the Premium battery isn’t the right choice for everyone. You may need your Samsung phone working urgently, be using it temporarily, preparing to replace it soon or simply need to keep the repair cost as low as possible.

For selected models, our Value Edition provides a more affordable battery replacement. It is a standard, budget-focused repair rather than the option we recommend when the Premium battery is available, but we still source the best quality we reasonably can within this price range.

Importantly, Value Edition does not include MrFix’s Premium bonding and specialist compression process. We make the differences clear before installation so you can decide whether the saving or the additional benefits of Premium matter more to you.

Original and genuine options where available.

For customers who want an original part, MrFix can also supply and fit original/OEM battery options for supported Samsung models where available.

The exact part, availability, price and any relevant One UI parts information are explained before you approve the repair.

Premium isn’t only about the battery

With our Premium battery and eligible premium repairs, the standard of installation matters just as much as the replacement part.

To reach the battery on a Samsung phone, the back glass has to be carefully removed and refitted. MrFix technicians use high-quality adhesive and specialist compression equipment during reassembly. Controlled pressure helps the glass and adhesive seat correctly and evenly around the frame, helping to prevent lifting edges, dust under the glass and uneven touch response.

Where applicable, this higher-standard reassembly process is also used for our premium battery, screen, digitiser and charging port repair work. Our technicians take additional care with preparation, alignment, bonding and finishing because the aim isn’t simply to make the device work again — we want the finished repair to look, feel and perform as close as reasonably possible to a professionally assembled device.

Samsung phones don’t carry an official water-resistance rating, so we recommend keeping your Samsung phone away from liquids after any repair. What our Premium service does provide is the additional equipment, quality adhesive, controlled compression and technician care required to achieve the best practical standard possible for an independent repair.

Premium battery, Value Edition or an original option where available — you’ll know what you’re choosing, what’s included and what you’re paying before MrFix fits anything.

Knowledge

Your data during a Samsung phone repair

Your privacy matters. MrFix does not wipe your Samsung phone as part of a standard screen, battery or other hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs.

We still recommend making a current backup before any repair. A Samsung that is already damaged or experiencing a hardware fault can sometimes deteriorate further, so keeping important photos, messages and other data backed up is always sensible.

For liquid-damaged, no-power or severely damaged Samsung phones, data recovery cannot be guaranteed. We’ll explain what can realistically be attempted rather than promise a recovery before the condition of the device is known.

Knowledge

After your Samsung phone repair

Before your Samsung phone is returned, MrFix tests the repair and relevant device functions. Depending on the work carried out, this can include the display and touchscreen, charging, cameras, speakers, microphones and biometrics where applicable.

For a battery repair, we check charging with known-good accessories, battery health readings and power stability, and make sure the device is functioning correctly before handover. We’ll also tell you what was fitted and anything relevant you should know about the repair.

A replacement battery doesn’t need a special settling-in period. Once the repair has been completed and tested, you can charge and use your Samsung phone normally.

Depending on the Samsung model and the part you selected, One UI may display a parts notification or different component information in Settings. Where this is expected, we’ll explain it when you choose your repair option rather than leaving you to discover it afterwards.

If something doesn’t seem right after your repair, contact MrFix as soon as you notice it. We’d rather inspect the device promptly and determine whether the issue relates to the fitted part, the repair itself or a separate fault.

Common questions about Samsung battery repairs

Here are answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

Will my Samsung be water resistant after a repair?

Many Samsung phones carry an official IP water-resistance rating when new, but that rating can’t be guaranteed after any repair that opens the device. With eligible Premium repairs, MrFix uses high-quality adhesive and specialist compression equipment during reassembly to achieve the best practical seal possible, but we still recommend keeping your repaired Samsung away from water and other liquids.

Will my Samsung phone charge and hold charge normally after a battery replacement?

Yes — the aim is to restore normal battery life and reliable charging. After the repair, we test charging with known-good accessories and check that the battery is reporting correctly before handover. If the fault turns out to involve the charging port or the main board rather than the battery, we’ll explain this before the repair wherever it can be identified.

Can MrFix repair a Samsung phone that is locked to someone else’s Samsung or Google account?

A hardware repair may still be possible, but MrFix cannot remove Samsung Reactivation Lock or Google Factory Reset Protection. These are security features that require the appropriate account credentials or the manufacturer’s supported account recovery process. A hardware repair does not bypass them.

Can MrFix repair a Samsung phone another repair shop has already worked on?

In many cases, yes. Tell us about any previous repairs or replacement parts when you bring or send the Samsung to us. Previous work can affect diagnosis, part compatibility and the condition inside the device, so knowing what’s already been done helps our technicians assess it properly.

Will I lose my data during a repair?

MrFix does not wipe your Samsung phone as part of a standard screen, battery or other hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs. However, we still recommend making a current backup before any repair, as unexpected issues can sometimes occur.

Knowledge

Preparing your Samsung phone for repair

A little preparation can help your repair go more smoothly. Here are a few simple steps to take before you bring or send your Samsung phone to MrFix.

Back up your data

We always recommend making a current backup using Samsung Cloud, Google or Smart Switch or a computer before any repair.

Know your passcode

A passcode is not normally required for straightforward repairs, but it may be needed to fully test certain functions such as fingerprint unlock, face recognition, cameras or some settings.

Sign out (where possible)

If you can, sign out of your Samsung account and turn off Find My Mobile. This isn’t always necessary, but it can help with some types of repair and testing.

Tell us about any previous repairs

Let us know if your Samsung phone has had any previous repairs or if you’re aware of any existing issues.

Bring any accessories that are relevant

If the issue is related to charging, for example, it can be helpful to bring your charging cable or other accessories so we can test them with your device.

Knowledge

The questions people actually ask.

Straight answers to the things customers ask us most about Samsung repairs. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

What Samsung repairs does MrFix offer?

MrFix repairs the most common Samsung faults, including digitiser (touchscreen glass) replacement, display replacement, battery replacement, charging problems, cameras, speakers, microphones and other supported hardware faults.

For Samsung digitiser repairs, choose your exact model to see the available options and price. Most walk-in Samsung digitiser repairs are completed in around 60 minutes, and completed repairs come with our 12-month warranty, subject to the warranty terms.

How do I choose the right Samsung model?

Start by choosing your Samsung phone from the model cards above. Depending on the series, that might be a Galaxy S, Galaxy A, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip or Galaxy Note model.

Not sure which one you have? Go to Settings → About phone to see your model name and number. If the Samsung won’t power on, bring the Samsung to MrFix and we’ll identify it before confirming your battery options and price.

Do you repair older Samsung phones?

Yes. We repair a wide range of Samsung models, from older Galaxy S and Galaxy Note models through to the latest Galaxy S, Galaxy A and Galaxy Z generations. Parts availability varies by model. For very old models we’ll confirm parts availability before starting work.

How long does a Samsung battery repair take?

Most Samsung battery repairs take around 60 minutes.

More complicated damage or additional faults may require longer. If we find something that changes the expected repair or timescale, we’ll explain it before proceeding.

Can I visit without an appointment?

Yes. No appointment is required for walk-in repairs. You can bring your Samsung phone to either our Edinburgh City Centre or Corstorphine store during opening hours.

We’ll check the device, confirm the appropriate repair and price, and get your approval before work begins.

Can you collect my Samsung and bring it back after the repair?

Yes. For many Edinburgh customers, our Samsung Collection & Return service can be the smartest and easiest way to get a battery repaired without making a trip to the shop.

For an additional £20, a MrFix driver can collect your Samsung phone from your address, bring it to us for repair and return it afterwards. The service covers most of Edinburgh, including Corstorphine, subject to address availability.

Will my data be safe during the repair?

MrFix does not wipe your Samsung phone as part of a standard hardware repair, and a passcode is not normally required for straightforward screen or battery repairs.

We still recommend making a current backup before any repair. For severely damaged, liquid-damaged or no-power devices, data recovery cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer nationwide Samsung repair by courier?

Yes. If you’re outside Edinburgh, you can use our UK-wide postal repair service.

Send your Samsung phone to MrFix and we’ll assess the device and confirm the repair and price before proceeding. This means customers across Scotland and the rest of the UK can use MrFix without visiting one of our Edinburgh stores.

What warranty comes with a Samsung phone repair?

Completed MrFix repairs come with a 12-month warranty on the fitted part and our workmanship.

It covers faults relating to the replacement part or work carried out by MrFix. It does not cover new accidental or physical damage, misuse or unrelated faults that develop afterwards. Liquid-damage repairs are excluded from the standard 12-month warranty because corrosion can continue after repair.

Can I choose which replacement Samsung battery is fitted?

Yes. Depending on your Samsung phone model, MrFix can offer different battery options.

Our Premium battery is our recommended aftermarket option for supported models. We also offer a lower-cost Value Edition, while original/OEM options can be supplied for supported models where available.

We’ll explain the differences, the price, what’s included and whether your model needs any additional parts or work before you choose.
