Know your iPad before choosing a digitiser repair
Some iPads look almost identical — and even share the same screen size — while using completely different digitisers.
Take the iPad 5th and 6th generation. Both have a 9.7-inch screen and look very similar, but they don’t use the same replacement digitiser. It’s a similar story with the iPad 9th generation and iPad Air 3: both are around 10 inches, but the iPad 9th generation has a separate digitiser, while the iPad Air 3 has glass laminated to the display.
That difference matters because the exact model determines which digitiser fits your iPad, whether the glass can be replaced on its own and how much the repair costs. Choosing by appearance or screen size alone can easily lead to the wrong part.
You can check yours by going to Settings → General → About → Model Name, or by checking the model number (starting with “A”) printed on the back of the iPad. If the glass is too damaged to use, bring the iPad to MrFix and we’ll identify the model for you before confirming your digitiser option and exact repair price.
