The Pixel 6 Pro uses an under-display optical fingerprint sensor built into the screen assembly. We calibrate and test it after every screen replacement to make sure it still reads correctly.
Opening the phone can affect the factory IP68 seal. We rebuild the seal carefully during reassembly, but we can't guarantee the original water resistance rating afterwards.
